Unichikake, known as kaidori or kake, is one of luxurious Japanese kimonos for women. Historically, it used to be put by society women during an Imperial ceremony at ancient time as a formal wear. After ting an Obi, you do uchikake (cover it up).
They essentially wear it in only spring, autumn and winter.
Uchikake includes Joyous patterns such as crane, phenix, paulownia, Japanese pine and chrysanth with embroidery or gold / silver foil labelling. Nowadays, a bride wears it during her wedding ceremony.
